Monmouth Medical Center’s Volunteer Program is proud to partner with Arturo Healing Hearts. Founded by Ava Costa, this inspiring youth-led initiative brings live music into hospital settings, touching the hearts of patients, visitors, and staff alike.
Ava volunteers with our Music Program, performing on her 94-year-old violin, “Arturo,” while also serving on a nursing unit supporting patient care. Her music fills our halls with warmth and calm, creating moments of comfort that uplift everyone who hears her play even if only for a few minutes.
Ava’s passion, drive, and commitment to expanding our music program and recruiting fellow student musicians across New Jersey to perform in RWJBarnabas Health hospitals has been truly inspirational. This initiative offers young performers a meaningful way to share their talent and spread joy where it’s needed most.
Thank you, Ava, for leading with heart. You truly exemplify kindness in everything you do. For those interested or to know more, please sign up at www.aturohealinghearts.org
